The Thing in the Hall

Night slowly falls over the building.

The power flickers once.

Then everything becomes quiet.

Inside the hallway, Lian and Kiera stand near the staircase.

Kiera: Did the screaming stop?

Lian: I think so.

Kiera: That's worse.

A door opens slowly behind them.

A man walks out. His face is pale.

Resident: Is it over?

Lian: We don't know yet.

The man suddenly grabs the wall.

Resident: My… body…

Kiera: Are you okay?

Resident: It's so cold…

His hands begin shaking.

Resident: Why… is it so cold…

Suddenly, he falls to his knees.

Kiera: What's happening to him?

Lian carefully approaches.

Lian: Hey… can you hear me?

The man slowly lifts his head.

Resident: Cold…

The creature lunges forward.

Lian pulls Kiera back.

Lian: RUN!

They rush down the hallway.

Inside her apartment, Serin hears the noise.

The baby wakes up.

Baby: Waaah!

Serin: Shh… it's okay…

A loud crash echoes from the hallway.

Serin freezes.

Something moves slowly outside her door.

Serin holds the baby tightly.

Serin: Please… go away…

The breathing continues for a moment.

Then the footsteps slowly move away.

Elsewhere, Lian and Kiera stop running.

Kiera: What… was that thing?

Lian: I don't know.

Kiera: That man… he died…

Lian: No.

Lian looks down the dark hallway.

Lian: Something turned him into that.
